¿Pensando en escribir una novela romántica?

Cuando empecé a plantearme la posibilidad de escribir una novela tenía, además de un par de ideas sobre la historia que quería contar, tenía muchas dudas. Hay un par de cosas que aprendí en el camino y que, si estás considerando escribir y publicar, te pueden ser de utilidad.

Planifica y documenta tu novela:

Vas a contar una historia de amor, quizás la mejor historia de amor jamás contada, y eso implica cierta responsabilidad. Piensa en el lector, en cómo quieres presentarle a tus personajes (si quieres que sean sujetos misteriosos para que poco a poco vayan descubriendo aspectos de su personalidad, o si necesitas que los entiendan para seguir el ritmo a sus acciones en la trama…). Tú los conoces mejor que nadie, así que las dosis de información que se conozcan sobre ellos dependerán de ti. Ahora considera la época y lugar en la que la ambientarás tu historia (si es un romance histórico o si será contemporáneo, en qué lugar del mundo ocurre…, y para hacerlo más creíble te recomiendo investigar un poco dependiendo de la situación que aplique a tu novela). Aclarados estos datos, entonces considera cuál es la mejor manera para conectar con tu lector: ¿dejando hablar a los personajes? (narración en primera persona) ¿o mostrar los eventos desde afuera? (narración en tercera persona).

Establece una rutina:

La mejor manera de que este asunto de la escritura realmente funcione es que lo tomemos en serio y seamos constantes. Dedica un poco tiempo todos los días a tu manuscrito, y poco a poco verás los resultados. Cuando tienes el hábito de escribir todos los días, la historia fluye mejor, conectas más rápido con lo que estás construyendo y puedes dejarte llevar, inyectarle sentimientos sin que se sientan forzados cuando la gente te lea. Si quieres haz la prueba. Busca un lugar en el que te sientas cómodo y siéntate a escribir unas dos horas todos los días. Si necesitas más tiempo en cada sesión, y puedes permitírtelo, entonces no lo dudes. Pero si necesitas desconectar un poco para poder continuar, salir y dejar reposar el manuscrito, no te obligues a permanecer frente al ordenador.

Diviértete escribiendo:

Escribir, como cualquier otra forma de arte, debe hacerse por gusto, por pasión, no por obligación. Si estás sentado allí escribiendo porque debes terminar la historia, como si fuese una obligación, el lector lo notará. Igualmente si estás haciendo lo que te gusta, divirtiéndote y disfrutando el proceso, el lector lo sentirá.

Establish a routine:

The best way for this writing issue to really work is for us to take it seriously and be consistent. Spend a little time every day to your manuscript, and little by little you will see the results. When you have the habit of writing every day, the story flows better, you connect more quickly with what you are building and you can let yourself go, inject feelings without feeling forced when people read to you. If you want, take the test. Find a place where you feel comfortable and sit down to write about two hours every day. If you need more time in each session, and you can afford it, then do not hesitate. But if you need to disconnect a bit to continue, leave and let the manuscript rest, do not force yourself to stay in front of the computer.

Have fun writing:

Writing, like any other form of art, must be done for pleasure, for passion, not for obligation. If you are sitting there writing because you must finish the story, as if it were an obligation, the reader will notice. Also if you are doing what you like, having fun and enjoying the process, the reader will feel it.
